02/23/2007 - Atlanta, GA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Martin St. Louis scored the game-winner with 1:16 left in overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a big 5-4 win over Atlanta to move one point ahead of the Thrashers for first place in the Southeast Division.
In the extra frame, Brad Richards left a drop pass for St. Louis, who rifled a one-timer from the top of the left circle that beat Johan Hedberg to win the game.
St. Louis also had two assists while Richards added a goal and an assist for the Lightning, who have won five of their last six games. Marc Denis made 24 saves in the win.
Marian Hossa, Eric Belanger and Steve McCarthy each had a goal and an assist for the Thrashers, who have dropped five of their last six games. Johan Hedberg made 24 saves in the defeat.
It was a 1-0 Atlanta lead after the first period, but a total of five goals were scored between the two teams in the middle frame.
The Thrashers assumed a 2-0 lead when Belanger rushed into the Tampa end and flicked a soft shot on net from the low left circle that found its way between the pads of Denis 7:50 in.
The Lightning, though, got on the scoreboard with 8:36 left in the frame when Richards scored his 21st goal of the campaign on a wrister from the slot to make it a 2-1 game.
Atlanta regained its two-goal advantage when a shot by Bobby Holik at the left circle hit off the helmet of Eric Boulton in front and went into the net.
Tampa Bay, though, responded with two goals to tie the game heading into the final frame.
Just 30 seconds after Atlanta's third goal, St. Louis picked off an errant pass and from the left circle, slid the disc to Eric Perrin, who one-timed it from the slot over the glove of Hedberg.
A little over two minutes later Vincent Lecavalier tied the game with a power- play goal when his slap shot from the right point went under the left pad of Hedberg.
Hossa gave Atlanta a 4-3 lead just 30 seconds into the third when he gathered an errant pass by Belanger at the right side of the net and tapped it behind Denis.
The Lightning, though, answered less than two minutes later when a slap shot by Andre Roy trickled through the pads of Hedberg to tie the game at 4-4.
Atlanta drew first blood in the game to take a 1-0 lead in the first period. On the power play, McCarthy kept the puck in at the blueline and got it to Scott Mellanby down low on the left side. Mellanby swept the puck on net and Denis made a save, but McCarthy followed up on the rebound and stuffed it in just 2:38 into the game.
Hedberg only needed to make five saves in the opening 20 minutes to keep the Lightning off the board.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds
Will he or won't he? Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.
Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.
"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."
Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.
Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.
But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.
Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback. It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.
Here are the football odds as seen at MySportsbook.com and subject to change after February 10, 2007 if not locked in prior to that date.
